The research approach about transgenderism has achieved the depathologization of this population, awarding importance to its condition of social subject, and has allowed to approach aspects that respond to particular needs of this population. This qualitative research proposed to interpret changes in the ideals of couple relationships from four transgender people who live a process a gender identity transition process; through a case study it interpreted the changes around components of commitment, intimacy, romance, communication, attraction and sexual adjustment. This is how it finds that couple ideals are subjective and in accordance with the gender transition process, being the dynamics that influence the construction of the ideal couple.
