Valdes, Juan F. | 2015
Introduction: Fow-diverters are an invaluable tool in the managment of complex intracraneal aneurisms, with optimal outcomes in relation to their effectiveness and safety.
Objective: Describe stents flow-diverters therapy indicated for the managment of complex intracraneal aneurysms, in terms of clinical and surgical outcomes in the short term.
Methodology: Based on a case series, We set out to describe medical and surgical recordS of patients undergoing to flow-diverters stenting o stents in a Hospital of high complexity in Bogotá between July 2011 and July 2015. We collect clinical imaging, diagnosis data, and note the characteristics of aneurysms. We also include the legth of hospital stay, morbidity and mortality.
Results: 100% of patients had a succesful redirection of their blood flow, according to plan. Hospital stay was less than 10 days in 19 if 23 cases. We scored only one death related to therapy.
Conclusions: According to what described worldwide, the therapy performed by trained personnel, provide a safe and effective way in the treatment of complex intracranial aneurysms. Promoting proper flow in the short term and low incidence of complications.
