La melanoniquia longitudinal es una manifestación común de lesiones melanocíticas de la matriz ungular. Sin embargo, existen otras causas no melanocíticas descritas. Se presenta el caso de un paciente con melanoniquia longitudinal en la mano ocasionada por un carcinoma escamocelular in situ de la matriz ungular y se revisa la literatura científica sobre el tema.
The longitudinal melanonychia is a common manifestation of melanocytic le-sions of the nail matrix. Nevertheless, nonmelanocytic rare causes have been described. We present the case of a patient with a longitudinal melanonychia in a fingernail caused by squamous cell carcinoma in situ of the nail matrix and a review of the literature on the subject.
