This document, which is part of an investigation related to the subject of violence, Part of the following questions: What is and how to understand the concept of segregation? How the violence and segregation notions are articulated? To deal with these questions, the present article is organized in three moments. In the first one, the intention is to present the thesis that, as in Freud’s and Lacan’s work, make possible the approach to the violence categories and specially to the segregation. Then, two patient’s story fragments are taken; and finally, a discussion will take place, an analysis that contributes with the understanding of the categories violence and segregation, their characteristics, their marks and their presence in the correlation with the Other.Para el psicoanálisis la segregación constituye una práctica social que en la modernidad es fundamento del establecimiento del lazo social pero que a la vez establece una particular relación con la violencia de consecuencias aterradoras. El presente trabajo, que hace parte de una investigación en torno al tema de la violencia, parte de las siguientes preguntas: ¿qué es, y cómo comprender el concepto de segregación? ¿Cómo se articulan las nociones de violencia y segregación? Para abordar estos interrogantes el presente artículo se organiza en tres momentos. En el primer momento se pretende presentar las tesis que tanto en la obra de Freud como en la de Lacan, hacen posible un acercamiento a las categorías de violencia y especialmente a la de segregación.
